Kangaroo steak

Kangaroo steak is a special dish for special occasions - not solely for steaks lovers. Unfortunately in many countries it's hard to buy fresh meat so we must use frozen.
In that case steak should be well done which is not a good information for those of you who like steaks rare or medium. Nevertheless taste is so great that is still worth a shot.

  1. If we have frozen meat we should unfreeze it slowly. The best way is to take it out from fridge one day before cooking.
  2. We have to take out meat at least one hour before preparation from the fridge, so it can reach the room temperature
  3. We heat non-stick frying pan until it's really hot. Then we put butter and let it melt.
  4. Cut the meat in half (you need two slices)
  5. Now, we press gently meat with fingers against table a few times
  6. Then we put meat on frying pan pressing it gently so it touches bottom of the pan with whole its surface
  7. We fry it 7 minutes on one side and then 7 minutes on the other side (more than beef steak)
  8. We spice it with salt and black pepper just before serving. We can also put a table spoon of butter on it
